ABOUT
Ezra “Ez” Jalin is a marketing specialist, writer and activist based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
An alumni of St. Paul’s Theological College Malaysia (SPTC) and Saito University College, he started Teh-O-logy podcast, joined a non-profit Christian organization and helped to plant and built brand awareness for a Baptist church in the heart of Kuala Lumpur during the pandemic. However, he found an epiphany to return to the secular world to empower himself as a visual artist and brand expert while empowering the sick, the poor and the marginalized.
Ez is notably skilled in visual design, branding and creative writing. Throughout the years, he has initiated creative campaigns and projects, and also, raising awareness for brands and people that desire to do good causes. Throughout his experiences as a creative, Ez has served notable organizations and clients such as Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA), St. Paul’s Theological College Malaysia (SPTC), Amnesty International Malaysia, FELCRA Berhad, Lux Spectra, HANKidz, Sunway University, CityLight Church, Explain International (EX), Verdant Solar, GoCar, SPICES, Live-well, Renault, Pest Insiders, SunBell and Dictionary of Christian Biography in Asia (DCBA).
Ez is also widely known for his wit and grit in the performing arts world, particularly as a spoken word artist who would relate the Christian faith to the topics of mental health, minority rights, racialism and social equality. In 2018, Ez participated in Malaysia National Poetry Slam and landed Top 15 nationwide. In 2019, he self-published a zine entitled Nephesh and has written several articles online on mental health and social justice. In 2021, he was appointed as a parliamentary observer for Malaysia’s first Parlimen Digital and in the same year, was appointed by merit as the Information Chief for Setiawangsa branch of Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA). In early 2022, Ez was promoted as the regional Head of Public Relations (Federal Territories) of MUDA.
Drawing influences from the likes of Paul Rand, Jeremy Mura, Chris Do, Nik Goodner, Kosal Khiev and Sho Baraka, Ez is passionate about using creative arts and media for adventures and to explore new things in the world and the things of faith, social justice and mental health. Ez desires to employ creativity to good causes that would create impact to the world.
